My story of how I got started

If you had asked me ten years ago whether I’d be working in the hydrogen industry, I probably would have just raised my eyebrows – while I had heard of the gas, I had no idea that H2 had potential therapeutic benefits until I started working with Dr. Tyler LeBaron. At that time, I was a transportation engineer focused on roads, infrastructure, and public projects. My career path seemed well defined, and I had no idea that saying “yes” to a small volunteer opportunity would eventually lead me into an entirely different field.

That opportunity came through my brother, Dr. Tyler LeBaron, who had founded the Molecular Hydrogen Institute. I initially volunteered by helping organize educational content and support the growing nonprofit. As I became more involved, I discovered something I hadn’t expected, not just an interest in molecular hydrogen, but a passion for building the systems that help great ideas reach people.

Over time, one opportunity led to another. I became involved with product development, educational initiatives, conferences, community building, quality systems, engineering, and strategic planning. Along the way, I had the privilege of working with remarkable scientists, physicians, engineers, entrepreneurs, and educators who were each contributing their own expertise to the field.

Today, my work spans several organizations and initiatives, but my role is remarkably consistent. I enjoy helping talented teams turn ambitious ideas into practical reality by building the systems, processes, and operational foundations that allow those ideas to grow. One of the biggest lessons this journey has taught me is that meaningful innovation is almost always collaborative.

The breakthroughs may begin with a research discovery, a founder’s vision, or a single creative idea, but bringing that vision to life requires people with many different strengths working together toward a common purpose. I’ve discovered that my contribution isn’t having all the answers. It’s helping connect people, organize complexity, build systems, and create the conditions where great teams can do their best work.

That’s the kind of work I hope to keep doing, not just in hydrogen, but anywhere people are working together to build something that makes the world a little better.
