Molecular Hydrogen Institute
Advancing the science of molecular hydrogen as a potential medical gas through education, research, and scientific collaboration.
The Molecular Hydrogen Institute (MHI) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to making the science of molecular hydrogen accessible to healthcare professionals, researchers, manufacturers, and the public. Through scientific reviews, educational resources, conferences, and continuing education, MHI works to improve the quality of information available about molecular hydrogen and support evidence-based decision making.
What MHI is Building
Interest in molecular hydrogen has grown rapidly, but so have misinformation, exaggerated claims, and inconsistent educational resources. MHI exists to bridge the gap between molecular hydrogen research and public understanding by providing accurate, evidence-based information grounded in the published molecular hydrogen research literature. The goal is not to promote products or make medical claims, but to improve scientific literacy and encourage responsible application of emerging research.
What I Do Here
Under the direction and vision of the executive director, I serve as Director of Operations and Education, where I help build the systems that allow the organization to grow. My work includes:
- Managing educational initiatives
- Leading website and content development
- Organizing conferences, events, webinars, and MHI Community events
- Building operational systems and processes
- Creating continuing education programs in partnership with Universities
- Supporting research communication and databases – H2research.org
- Helping translate complex science into practical, understandable resources
Much of what I write about (evidence, systems thinking, scientific literacy, etc) has been shaped through this work and influenced by MHI Founder and Executive Director, Tyler W. LeBaron, MSc., PhD.
My Journey to MHI
Around 2020, I started volunteering with the Molecular Hydrogen Institute, helping organize Dr. Tyler LeBaron’s educational content. At the time, I knew very little about molecular hydrogen. I simply saw an opportunity to help my brother with a project I believed in while continuing my career as a transportation engineer.
Looking back, saying “yes” to that opportunity changed the direction of my life.
Around the same time, I had closed the doors on Working Moms Connection. I thought that chapter of my life had ended, and I was searching for where my skills could make the greatest impact. MHI became that place.
Today, I serve as Director of Operations and Education, where I help build the systems that allow scientific ideas to reach people through education, conferences, continuing education, research databases, and operational infrastructure.
More importantly, this experience has shaped how I think about evidence, uncertainty, and scientific communication. Working alongside Dr. Tyler has reinforced that good science depends not only on asking better questions, but also on communicating findings honestly, acknowledging uncertainty, and helping people distinguish evidence from opinion. It reinforced my belief that good systems, thoughtful leadership, and evidence-based decision making can improve people’s lives. Those lessons influence far more than my work in hydrogen—they influence how I approach engineering, communities, education, and even raising my children.
